What is included in registration? 

  • 8 Games for fall season 
  • New Player Clinic hosted by Boise State Lacrosse
  • Game jersey provided by TVYLL, returned at the end of season. (Shorts provided by player)
  • All game fields 
  • All game referees 
  • All teams will participate in our end of season Monster Mash tournament which will take place on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. Tournamemt includes games, vendors and fun day to wrap up the fall season.

 

What is included in registration? 

  1. 8 games for fall season (6 regular and 2 Monster Mash Tournament games)
  2. All game fields 
  3. All game referees 
  4. All teams will participate in our end of season Monster Mash Tournament which will take place on Saturday October 26, 2019

 

Equipment Rental Pick-Up Dates:

Registration Refund Policy:
Requests made any time prior to the first practice will be reimbursed for the full amount of registration. 
Requests made after the first practice will be reimbursed 1/2 of the registration fees. 
No refunds will be granted after games have started

Equipment Rental Refund Policy:
Requests made any time prior to equipment pick-up date will be reimbursed for the full amount of rental.
Requests made after the equipment has physically been picked up will be reimbursed at 1/2 of the rental fees, and will be processed AFTER all issued equipment has been returned.
No refunds will be granted after practices have started.

SPRING LACROSSE REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 26TH. SPRING SEASON BEGINS IN LATE FEBRUARY 2020.

 

Spring 2020 - Boys 1st & 2nd Grade (8U)

TEAM FORMATION:

Teams will be formed by elementary school and geographic address of player.  If elementary school does not have the needed numbers,  then it will be adjoined to nearest other elementary schools to form teams as needed.  

What else to expect:

 

  • Emphasis at the 8U level is on player development, lacrosse fundamentals, teamwork and having FUN!!  Even though we keep score we place the importance on the experience vs. the win/loss record.  Players should expect to rotate often in and out and play all positions during the course of the season.  
  • Team Size for 8U will be no 8-12 players with idea of 10 players.
  • Players will play on a smaller field and follow a modified format of the US Lacrosse Athletic Development Model (LADM) using the 6v6 game format.  
  • Practices will be held no more than three nights a week until games start and then will go to two practice nights and 1 game a week. 
  • Uniform jerseys will be issued and assigned at the beginning of the season.  These will be each players to KEEP.  Cool matching shorts will be are offered as an option as part of registration. Other "Team Spirit" wear will be offered as part of new online store that will be open after the first of the year.  
  • All games are played in the evenings M-F with no play on weekends except for the Day of Lacrosse which is our end of season tournament. 
  • Coaches will determine practice locations. 
  • Games will be held at various park locations throughout the Treasure Valley and Canyon County. 
  • Practices will begin the week of February 24th with games starting the week of March 16th.  The season will last for 12 weeks and will include end of the season “Day of Lacrosse” festival and tournament on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 at Ann Morrison Park in Boise, Idaho.
  • In addition to the highlights above the TVYLL will also provide a new player or “newbie” clinic which is put on the Boise State Men’s Lacrosse team.  Other clinics may be offered as they become available for all players regardless of skill level and age.
  • TVYLL does offer a rental equipment program for all those who are interested in trying out the sport.  Rental dates and times will be posted to the website and notification will be sent by e-mail.

Welcome and Thank YOU for volunteering to coach!

We believe that coaching youth sports is one of the most important and rewarding jobs that one can have! Whether you are a first year coach or a multi-year experienced coach,  every coach has the opportunity to make a positive impact for many years to come.  Big thanks to you for volunteering your time to coach.  

TVYLL embraces the POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE program for DOUBLE GOAL  COACHING which include as follows:  

Coaches will model and teach players respect through Honoring the Game (ROOTS).  Players focus on mastering the sport, which leads to higher effort, learning and improved athletic performance.  Athletes also will have more FUN and feel good about what they are accomplishing because coaches are empowering them with positivity as they fill their Emotional Tanks!

The Positive Coaching Alliance Model also creates opportunities for better coach/parent/player relationships with Coach/Parent Partnership, Empowering Conversations and creating Culture Keepers of the game.

 

Upon completion of players registration, final plotting of players by geographic area, will determine the final # of teams and coaches for Spring Season.  The Boys and Girls Director will be contacting you.  

 

What Coaches can expect from TVYLL

  • Automatically part of the Coach Council which is forum for input to improve and grow the game as a whole community 
  • Paid League Registration for son/grandson for HEAD Coach
  • Paid US Lacrosse Membership (Required by US Lacrosse for all coaches) $55 value
  • Paid PCA Certification I & II (Required by TVYLL for all coaches) $30 value each
  • Paid Background Check (Required by TVYLL for all coaches) $25 value
  • Coach Materials:  TVYLL provides Rage cage, coach bag, lacrosse balls, cones, first aid kit, stopwatch, whistle, etc. for each team to be used during the entire season.
  • Goalie Gear and stick for each team for use during the season.
  • Coach Handbook with clearly defined rules, checklists and policies
  • Practices Drills and Plans by Division (access to USL Mobil coach and resources)
